Personality types: Insights Discovery. These personality types are based on Jungian psychology; it uses a four-colour model to highlight key personality preferences and associated behaviours.
Insight Discovery is a highly popular tool within businesses, seeing as how it can be used for individual or group development as it raises self-awareness, improves communication, decision-making and performance. The personality test involves an online evaluation of about 20 minutes with multiple-choice questions. After completion, a personal profile is then created providing in-depth insights into individual strengths and weaknesses, communication style, approach to problems and value added to your team.
That personal profile will give you your unique “colour mix” of the four colour energies being: Cool Blue, Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow and Earth Green. Each colour represents personal preferences and associated behaviour and we all have a unique mix of these.

This way of analyzing people can be highly effective in terms of organisational change, for example if your company is restructuring its teams or if there is a change in leadership. This will provide a universal language of colour on which to shape performance, management discussions, to better identify company culture and analyse customer service improvements.
With these report insights, people are more self-aware and they will talk more openly using this universal colour-language. Discussing challenges faced, areas for improvement, individual strengths, weaknesses and team dynamics will be made far more easy since people will understand far better how others work and how to communicate with them in the best way possible.
These main colours will branch out into 8 personality types as listed below. Each psychological type, based on Carl Jung’s psychological theory, is a mix of introversion, extraversion, thinking, feeling, sensing or intuition.
Not only will the report tell you what personality type you are, it will also place your profile on one of the 72 segments on the wheel. Depending on the colour mix, you can be placed in one of the three rings on the graph. There is an outer, middle and inner ring in the graph meaning ‘focused’, ‘classic’ and ‘accommodating’ respectively.
It is possible to be on more than one ring on the wheel, that is if your ‘conscious’ and your ‘unconscious’ personas are different. Your conscious persona is the direct response, it is a combination of you, who you need and want to be. It is how you might act. Your unconscious persona is the indirect response, this leans more to instinctive behaviour and highlights possible blind spots. This is how you might react.
Insights profiles are great tools to use when it comes to increasing our self-awareness. They can be used proactively to identify key areas of development and action, and can be shared with friends and colleagues to gauge constructive feedback.
