27 OCTOBER 2017, DUBAI: Ladies go pink for Breast Cancer. The second edition of Pink Ladies Games in the Middle East saw 100 female teams battle it out at Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort this morning whilst raising breast cancer awareness and money in partnership with Pink Caravan UAE breast cancer initiative. Pink Ladies Games has also been selected amongst the featured events of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.
More than 500 women from across Dubai took part in the games for women by women and all of them tested their teamwork, strength, and fitness at the specially designed challenges. The challenges were created to unite cultures in a fun and active manner and included: a Brain Game, the Waiter’s Race, Archery Tag, Emergency 911, Drive You Up the Wall, Ripslinger Catapult and the Fitness Fun Challenge. All teams warmed up with a Zumba dance hosted by Fitness First.
Launched by Promoseven Sports Marketing and Hercules Trophy Middle East, Jane Kilalea, Marketing Director at Promoseven Sports Marketing said: “Seeing so many women here today having fun and enjoying themselves is testament of the success of this second edition of the Pink Ladies Games here in Dubai. We have tripled in number of teams and participants compared to last year’s numbers. Thanks must go to everyone that has been involved in the build-up and in particular the support of the Dubai Fitness Challenge and Pink Caravan.”
The ladies only games concept originated from Europe and has been running in seven cities for over 10,000 women before launching in Dubai. This exciting concept in Dubai is in partnership with Pink Caravan UAE breast cancer initiative and is dedicated to raising money for breast cancer and supported by the Emirates Red Crescent.
Jean Diosana from TripleFast took part in the event and said: “We had such a great time, the event was fabulous, a great cause and it’s a fantastic venue here at the Sheraton JBR. Everything was very well organised, lots of energy and we would definitely like to come back next year.”
Participants and their friends and family enjoyed the atmosphere and wonderful surroundings of the hotel. In addition, a number of women made use of the free examination facilities at hand from Pink Caravan UAE breast cancer initiative.The games were followed by a delicious breakfast by the pool as the awards and prizes were given for first, second and third place as well as best dressed team, best sportsmanship and the smartest team.
