Anthony Kumpen: Flair Games Hunk

By:

Anthony Kumpen: Flair Games Hunk. Being a race driver and competition addict, he is the perfect asset for the winner of the coolest team contest in Lier. When Anthony Kumpen isn’t breaking lap records, you will find him in front of the camera.

Born in 1978, Anthony quickly knew that the racing bug was inside him. Instead of watching cartoons on TV like the other children, he watched all types of racing. It was no surprise he started racing karts at the age of 10. Anthony was a natural on the track. Between his 10th and 16th anniversary, he won over 20 races and became a 2-time Belgian champ.

He started working his way through different classes and in 1999 he got the chance to drive Belcar. In 2000 he perhaps achieved his biggest win thus far. He won the 24 hours of Zolder and got awarded with the ‘most promising driver’-award. Today, he is the record holder at the circuit of Zolder. He won the 24 hours for an unbelievable 6 times already.

Between 2000 and 2014, Anthony won a tremendous amount of races and awards in the FIA GT and Belcar classes. In 2014 one of his dreams came true: to drive in the NASCAR Euroseries. In an unbelievable season he won a race, had 6 podium finishes but most importantly, he was crowned the NASCAR Whelen European champ. This earned him a seat in American Nascar Xfinity series, the most prestige championship in stock-car racing. Fun fact: Anthony is also the uncle of Max Verstappen, a young dutch driver trying to make it in Formula1.

But, Anthony Kumpen is much more than just a race driver. He is also famous for his private life. He participated at the Belgian version of ‘Dancing with the Stars. Anthony is happily married with Griet Vanhees and they love the spotlights.
