Urban Trophy in Germany. From 15 until 17 May the leading Belgian magazine for HR Professionals, HR Magazine, organized their annual Conference. Place to be: Hyatt Regency in Düsseldorf. This year’s theme was “Turning Tables in HR”.
The idea of the 2013 convention is that HR professionals need to take their responsibility in organizations that change continuously. As corporate wellbeing and employee happinessbecome increasingly important in companies and is the direct responsibility of the HR Director, it was interesting to observe the attitude of HR professionals towards these hot topics, especially when they have the opportunity to feel the impact of Hercules emotional resonance on their direct contacts at the convention.
It was exactly for the HR attendees that we organized the very first Urban Trophy. But… what’s the idea of the Urban Trophy?
Urban Trophy in Germany. The Urban Trophy is organized in -what a surprise- an urban environment. We use the Hercules Trophy concept, but in a minimum constellation and by using the urban furniture as much as possible.
There were 6 labours: Charlie’s Labyrinth, Sbykes, Kubb, Ultimate Frisbee Challenge, Truck Pulling and Human Catapult. The HR professionals were divided into Hercules teams by HR Magazine, which had a huge positive impact on networking amongst the participants. The first evening was used to create a team identity, take team pictures and get to know each other in a funny, teamy way.
On the second day, the Hercules Academy organized a Morning Run for the participants, together with Olympic athlete Gella Vandecaveye. In the afternoon, just when heavy rain showers started, the teams began their first with the Urban Trophy. It was a very wet Trophy experience, but the participants were thrilled!
The winner of the Urban Trophy was Team Asjère. The Coolest team competition was won byThe Lucky Bastards , with a surprising number of online votes in less than 12 hours’ time. The team named “Voor mij is alles goed” became the Fairplay team and team “Thriller” was the smartest Team. The “Sliding Doors” team won the Best Team Picture prize for the exotic location on where the picture was shot. Well done teams. You did a great job!
